Hail to the Chief

Digging through old boxes, I unearthed an artifact from childhood. It came as response to the letter I sent him as part of a class project, second grade maybe? I love that the return address is only "The White House, Washington"; so matter of fact and important.

Happy Place

Around here, we call the kitchen/rumpus room/creative space/dining area/sewing room the "Laboratory", as in Dexter's Labroratory. Anyway, today I busied myself cleaning and rearranging the laboratory and it struck me that it is a prime sampling of all the things that make me happiest in the world. It's chocked full of unfinished projects, kids pictures, collection(s) of childrens' books (mine and theirs), art and crafts supplies (mine and theirs), tools, tools, and more tools. What's not to love about that?

Little Boy Blue

He's standing on dresser I refinished for my girls this week. Evidence of the rare occasion when the end product is exactly as it was conceived in my head. More pics at Flickr.
